About

Welcome to Family Strong Matters (FSM), a place for men to intentionally lead their families spiritually.  I’m Peter Lindstrom.  Over the past forty plus years I have come to learn the transforming benefits of family worship in our homes.

The purpose of FSM is to encourage leadership for men to guide their families spiritually.  In the fight against spiritual complacency in the home, our focus is on the father leading in family worship in these core areas: Bible Reading, Praying, and Singing.

You can follow along by signing up for the weekly newsletter updates or just checking in here at the site as I publish weekly.

More about me?

As I am learning on this journey of intentional leadership with my family, I am a happy husband of one, blessed father of ten and pastor of Christ Our Redeemer Church.

PHILOSOPHY

The essence of my philosophy is this:
As Christian fathers leading spiritually in our families…
  1.  …we are in active fellowship with a local church.
  2.  …we are seeking God personally who is our Lord and Savior for salvation and purpose.
  3.  …we are intentionally guiding our families spiritually through various God-given means (Bible reading, praying, singing).
  4.  …we are as men seeking God often through private prayer that He would bless our homes with his grace and truth so that God would use us as a family for His glory.
  5. …we are only strong through God’s power.

I’m interested in seeing our families grow in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, and so I would love to have you share with me in this experience for your own family.  Together we will seek God, His Kingdom and His righteousness.

I would be honored to have you sign up for the weekly newsletter.  Let’s lead our families together for God’s glory.

Christ is Risen

But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 1 Corinthians 15:20 “But, now…” Contrary to all the false teachings about the resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:12-19), the Apostle Paul speaks the truth (1 Corinthians 15:1-11). What If There Was No Easter?

What if there was no Easter? It’s a question that we don’t ask because we already know the truth of the matter. However, what if…? For the Apostle Paul it’s an important thought. And it’s an important thought as we worship together at church and as we gather in family worship. Here’s Paul’s view: [tweet_dis]If… Read More →

The Goodness of Good Friday

Where is the goodness of Good Friday in a cruel cross? It is evidenced in our salvation from sin. If we took the time to list out all our sins individually it would take us all day [correction: more than a lifetime]. But here’s a short list of our sins in which Paul reminds us of… Read More →

Palm Sunday Preparation

As we remember a personal birthday or an anniversary or Thanksgiving Day… Palm Sunday is all the more important to remember as it brings us to a climax in Jesus’ earthly mission in his life, death and resurrection. This day’s significance lies in the fact that Jesus fulfills the prophetic word of Zechariah 9:9 and… Read More →

Fear of the Lord: How Should We Think?

As a father and husband trying to lead his family, what does it mean to fear the Lord? To fear the Lord may sound archaic and perhaps unimportant. After all, don’t we just want our children to love God…and not fear Him? Shouldn’t our motto be, “No fear taught here?” For a healthy family, the… Read More →
